Filters & Disc Packs

We cut filter discs and build disc packs from woven wire cloth, to your diameter and mesh.

A filter disc is a single round of woven wire cloth, cut to your diameter. A disc pack is several of those stacked and run as one unit. The fine layer does the filtering. The coarser layers behind it carry the pressure, so the fine mesh does not deform or blow through under load. Stack order matters, so tell us which way the flow runs.

We cut solid discs, annular rings with a center hole, and welded discs set into a frame. Edges can be left plain cut or bound, depending on how the disc has to seat and seal. Everything is cut to your diameter and your mesh spec. Send a drawing, a sample, or the old disc and we will quote it.

Industrial Wire Baskets

Fryer, parts washing, heat treat and strainer baskets, welded from our own mesh to your dimensions.

These are industrial baskets: fryer and frying baskets, parts washing and dip baskets, heat treat and degreasing baskets, strainer baskets. Mesh comes first. Open weave where oil and chips have to drain fast. Tight weave where small parts would fall straight through. Two builds out of our own catalog: 3 x 3 mesh in .092" wire, and 304 stainless in 20 x 20 mesh, .016" wire. Gardeners: our Pro Gopher Baskets are a separate product.

Hot oil, caustic wash, heat treat: that is where the alloy earns its keep. 304 stainless is the workhorse. 316 stainless adds chloride resistance when the chemistry gets harsh. We reinforce top rims with round rod and weld handles to suit the load and the lift. Tell us the process, the temperature, the cycle time and the inside dimensions you need, then send a sketch or a sample basket.

U-Edging & Trim

A U-shaped metal channel crimped over the cut edge of a panel or disc, so the mesh stops clean.

Cut wire cloth ends in sharp wire tips. U-edging covers them. The channel slips over the raw edge and gets crimped down tight, so the panel is safe to handle, the weave stays put, and cut wires cannot work loose or unravel along the selvage. It also stiffens the edge so the panel seats evenly in a frame, groove, or holder, and it looks finished instead of raw.

Our stock channel is plain steel. Other materials are quoted to order, so the trim can match the cloth instead of fighting it. It goes on the panel size you actually need: squares, rectangles, discs, or an odd shape off your print. Send us the dimensions, the mesh, and the material and we will quote it.

Beyond Stock

Custom Fabrication

Cut, slit, formed, welded, coated. If it is metal with a hole in it, we will quote it.

Most of what leaves our floor is not a stock roll. We cut woven mesh, perforated metal, and expanded metal to size and flatten it. We slit any of our woven materials to the width you need. We build welded panels in virtually any opening, wire diameter, and piece size, in stainless, galvanized-after-weld, or plain steel. Shaping, forming, and welding go into baskets, trays, guards, strainers, and filters.

Finishing is part of it too: powder coating, electro-polishing, PVC, paint, hot-dipped and electro-galvanizing. Galvanizing after fabrication matters, because that is what seals the cut edges and the welds. Ideally send us a sample, since that is the best production guide. If you do not have one, a drawing or a print works, as long as you tell us the intended use.
